Primary Activities

Serving the Public Interest
IFAC strives to serve the public interest through the development of standards in the areas of auditing, education, ethics, and public sector financial reporting; by advocating transparency and convergence in financial reporting; by providing best practice guidance for professional accountants employed in business; and by implementing a membership compliance program.

Facilitating Cooperation Among Member and Regional Accountancy Bodies
IFAC works closely with its members and associates and regional accountancy organizations to ensure the competence and integrity of accountants worldwide and to support accountants in their efforts to provide high quality services.

Speaking Out on Behalf of the International Profession
IFAC is the primary spokesperson for the international profession and speaks out on a wide range of public policy issues. This is accomplished in part through outreach to numerous organizations that rely on or have an interest in the activities of the international accountancy profession.
